Earlier this month, our colleagues volunteered with our charity partner SUGi to plant trees, enabling the return of a thriving, sustainable ecosystem to a previously barren land.
The initiative coincided with World Environment Day, where the theme this year was #GenerationRestoration, calling on people to restore land for future generations —a priority that resonates with R&Co4Generations, the Rothschild & Co foundation.
We have funded the creation of a 650 sqm pocket forest and outdoor classroom at William Ford Church of England School in Barking & Dagenham, and pupils from the school had the opportunity to join us in planting trees.
Our partner SUGi is a global environmental charity dedicated to building biodiversity, climate resilience, and wellbeing in communities. Their pocket forests are ultra-dense, biodiverse micro-forests of native species, meticulously designed to seamlessly integrate with the surrounding urban environment.
